Self-Destruct Feature Keeps Videos Private

Psst… mailVU users gather ‘round. We need to talk. Yes, all of you, potential and current!

In this space we’ve discussed at length how fantastic our video platform is for businesses that might be looking for a unique, personalized approach to reaching customers. We’ve talked about how valuable mailVU’s Business Plan is for branding your video messages and video marketing. We’ve talked about how mailVU’s video apps for iPhone and Android make shooting video messages on-the-go quick and simple. But what happens if you send a video that you didn’t mean to send – or worse, if that video gets forwarded.

I briefly touched on mailVU’s self-destruct features in this post, but I think it’s time for a refresher, especially for those who use our service to send out personal video email.

As you can see below, there are two ways you can make sure your video messages are not shared beyond your intended recipients. Clicking on the ‘Delete after x days’ or ‘Self-destruct after x views’ allows you to select the best option for your video’s availability:

The self-destruct function is available on any of the mailVU accounts (including the Basic Account) the iPhone and Android apps. If you’ve forgotten to set up your self-destruct options and you’re worried your videos might end up in front of the wrong eyeballs, you can easily retract your video at any time after it’s sent. This message will appear in your email:

mailVU has safeguards in place to assure that your videos remain private when you want them to. For those who haven’t tried out the self-destruct features, we invite you to test them when you try our Basic account service for a free 14 day trial period.

The Business Plan mentioned above includes a dashboard where your videos are kept for easy sending. They can also be set up with self-destruct options, which are helpful if you have a special, limited-time offer you would like to share with customers or sensitive information that’s only to be viewed by certain employees within your company.

Since mailVU offers security not seen with most other online video platforms, you are always in control of your business or personal content and its distribution. Got questions or want to learn more? Please contact us in a video email.
